The Chilling Joke.
The jokerized Dr Polaris moves the magnetic axis of the earth to cause
amazing weather anomalies
(although he really should move the rotation axis
for this). Hearing the news, the members of the JLA immediately stop their
recent activities: gathering the antijokerized super evils at a concentration
camp in the Valley of Death (so nice), and they throw themselves into action,
head to the Antarctic. Polaris takes under his control the team's machine
(Flash and Superman go by "foot") by his polarizing super and crashes
it. Fortunately, Plastic Man forms a protective shell for the others.
While Plastic Man is freezing in the cold, Batman and Green Lantern
quarrel about whether whose experience they rely, because Batman knows Joker
well, however Kyle Rayner knows Polaris well. Whose penis is bigger competition
is won by Green Lantern, so his plan is followed. His tactic is simple: he
tries to make Polaris surrender. He does not like it, so he takes under his
control our heroes.
Indeed, there is something polarisable metal at everyone: Batman's
teaser, the Green Lantern's ring, Wonder Woman's bracelets, Martian Manhunter's
blood (it is red from a lot iron), the little lightning decorations at Flash's
head and feet. Superman does not have any metal, but Polaris makes him
completely busy by the metallic objects extricated from ice. Who was out of
line? You win: Plastic Man. Superman melts him by his laser eyes, so he can
take care of Polaris.
Among Chuck Dixon's Tie in, it is the best one so far not so much related
to the main story than the other, but it is rather out of place in itself. Of
course, this is just a little something easy nothingness but at least
entertaining thing. Chuck Dixon pulls clever off this little plot to the whole
length of the booklet. I was surprised that I get to the end, I thought that
I'm still only at halfway. This is probably due to the fact that Scott Beatty
also helped. Darryl Banks' draws are solid moderate. Unfortunately it leaves
something to be desired in all aspects especially in the faces which the many
shadows can’t help.
